Chapter One :Chapter 1

Xiao Jiu stared blankly at the scene before him. The dark and eerie Divine Abyss was not only the graveyard of gods but also the prison for deities. Only the most powerful and malevolent gods, those who had committed heinous crimes and would wreak havoc if released, were confined here.

The reason he found himself in this place was due to two events that had occurred three days ago.

The first event was that his master god had exploded—literally. Shattered into countless fragments, it was the result of his master's own reckless actions.

The second event was that, fortunately, Xiao Jiu discovered that his master could still be saved. The fragments had scattered across various lower realms, manifesting as antagonists in each. All that was needed was to gather them.

However...

Xiao Jiu glanced at the person standing before him and swallowed hard. He had followed the divine energy of his master to find a suitable host to form a contract with and collect the fragments. He had expected to either contract with an exceptional mortal or a kind and gentle mid-to-high-ranking god. But he never anticipated this.

The one before him was Su Huan, the high-ranking god of destruction, his master's arch-nemesis. For millennia, the two had been locked in an endless feud, which only ceased when Su Huan was imprisoned in the Divine Abyss.

If Su Huan were to find out that his master was dead, he would probably scatter his master's ashes to the winds without a second thought. Saving him? Forget it.

But luckily, Su Huan didn’t know who Xiao Jiu was or who his master was.

"Little cutie, what are you saying~" The girl in front of Xiao Jiu was stunningly beautiful, like a finely crafted doll. Her soft, innocent almond-shaped eyes sparkled with mischief, and she stood amidst the darkness of the Divine Abyss, surrounded by golden suppression runes and piles of bleached bones, yet she seemed completely at ease, utterly unfazed.

"Well... if you bind with me, I can temporarily take you out of the Divine Abyss. Once we collect all the fragments and revive my master, he can help you escape this place," Xiao Jiu explained.

"The task is simple. You just need to eliminate the corruption values of the antagonists in each realm, guide them onto the right path, and rewrite their fates. These antagonists are all powerful figures, but in their early years, they were weak and pitiful, needing someone to nurture them," Xiao Jiu continued, feeling the weight of her gaze on him, though he couldn’t tell if she was pleased or annoyed.

"Is there good food outside?" Su Huan licked her lips, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

Xiao Jiu nodded.

"Are there many powerful people out there?" Su Huan blinked, her curiosity piqued once more.

Xiao Jiu nodded again, his eyes hesitantly shifting to Su Huan, unsure of her intentions. Just as he began to worry if she had seen through him, he noticed the young girl leap lightly, her voice sweet and soft as she said, "Alright, let's go."

Caught off guard by Su Huan's easygoing nature, Xiao Jiu quickly followed. He glanced back nervously at the deep abyss, dreading the thought of his master deity's resurrection. The idea of the two arch-enemies meeting, only to discover that the other had saved him, filled him with terror. Would they fight first, or would they come to strangle him? Whimpering softly, he felt utterly weak, pitiful, and helpless.

...

When Su Huan opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the low, dim ceiling, with water dripping down in a steady rhythm. The flickering light revealed a wall adorned with certificates and photographs, all bearing the same name: Su Huan. The bed beneath her was hard, and though the room was small, it was meticulously clean, with hardly any belongings in sight, save for an old dressing table.
